We are dedicated to empowering individuals and families in our community in Columbus, OH, by offering a range of supportive services. We begin by providing English as a second language classes, tailored to adults, to help bridge language gaps and foster greater understanding. Additionally, we offer basic computer skills training to enhance digital literacy and promote online access. Our comprehensive support continues with driver training programs, transportation assistance to medical appointments, work interviews, and other essential destinations, as well as job application writing support. Furthermore, we provide financial assistance to help families cover funeral expenses, ensuring that they receive the support they need during difficult times.
We are paying school fees for three students ( 2 at the college and one at the high school.) We assisted five families by paying for the medical bills at Uvira General hospital (H.G.U) We donated utensils and personal care products to 50 families victims of the river Mulongwe flooding. We assisted ethnic conflict displaced students from Bijombo with school notes and pens.
We assisted by paying school fees for one student, and we donated utensils to 15 families victims of flooding. We assisted two families by paying their hospital bills. We helped six widows by donating clothes, personal care products, and food in Gatumba.
We assisted four families in the Nyarugusu refugee camp by donating house construction equipment.
We assisted a low-income family in Baraka where the wife gave birth to 3 babies by paying hospital bills. Still, unfortunately, the three babies passed away after two months due to a lack of appropriate care.
We assisted four refugee families at the Dzaleka refugee camp to construct their shelters by giving them equipment for construction.
We assisted one family by paying for his disabled daughter’s hospitalization expenses.
We assisted one family in the Nakivale refugee camp to reconstruct his shelter damaged by rains.
We helped one 1family get a medical consultation with a gynecologist.
Buzimba Nestor Buhinge founded Upendo International Charity Group in 2021, in Ohio, United States, in collaboration with Furaha Chikala and Superintendent Brent Thompson, who joined as Co-Founders, together laying the foundation for the organization's growth and impact.
